Professor David Li - Chess and Chinese Chess (XiangQi, 象棋) Interview Chessbase 2005

Chinese Chess Board (XiangQi, 象棋):

Chessbase in 2005 published 2 very interesting articles on chess and chinese chess (XiangQi, 象棋), based on an interview with Professor David Li. In the interview Professor Li hypothesises that the remarkable success of Chinese players in international chess is due them being initially weaned on the faster pace game XiangQi (象棋) as children.

Part I - Give up Western Chess – play Chinese Chess instead!
Part II - “Better Chess the Chinese Way”
